Well, Christmas time is nearly upon us, and I am all excited because I'll be busy during Christmas even and Christmas day! Or so I thought!
As it turns out, Christmas is done differently in Europe, or at least in France. For them, the big 'family time dinner' is Christmas Eve NOT Christmas day. I had originally thought I was going to my friend's Nina's for Chistmas EVE dinner and my friend Matheiu's for Christmas day. But when i was hanging out with Matheiu yesterday he said on I'll see you on Thursday, the 24th. I said, don't you mean Friday? And that's when he explaiend the tradition.
Christmas Eve, the family comes over for dinner around 7:30 or 8pm and then opens up a present or two at midnight. Christmas day is actually spent with the otherside of the family, seeing as that most of the people I've met come from divorced houesholds.
So now, I'll be spending Christmas Eve with Matheiu and Christmas day, possibly have my friend Miranda over and do a dinner here. I'm not sure yet.
Oh silly cultural differences, why must you make my life silly like this ;)
