So being in the French Riviera, people don't often associate winter, let alone Christmas with this region. However, the city of Nice has plenty to offer Christmas affectionados.
Apparently, each year there is a different theme for the city, and how it is decorated. This year, the theme is a Russian Christmas. So, in the center of town where they have the majority of the decorations, you can hear Russian chrismtas music. Also, I know that there is the Russian Ballet, or there will be, I'm not sure of the dates.
Also in the center of town is the Christmas Village. They have little kiosks of decoratiosn, a ferris wheel, and even the Russian dolls. All of which you can see pictures of on the blog. The ferris wheel was great, and thanks to the wonderful shamelessness of my friend we got a group rate becasue there was no one on the ferris wheel!
The lights are amazing, and kind of over the top, but in a place where it hardly snows (yes it actually did snow the other day!), I guess they feel they need to do things over the top so that it can really feel like Christmas.
