Before moving to Nice, I made sure I did my homework and found out all the cool gay bars and cool gay locations to go. I was most excited to find that I live a street in front of a gay club called le Bleu.
Like most gay clubs in France, it doesn’t get busy until 1am, after the “before bars” such as le Fard. Usually people close the bars and then go to these dance clubs where they stay until closing; usually 5 am. I have done this a couple times and have had a blast each time.
Le Bleu is a decently sized two floor club that plays a variety of
music. Usually the night starts out with pop hits, and then transforms into techno or dance music. The admission is 10 euros which may seem a little steep, but it includes a drink with the admission, so really it’s not a bad deal. Drinks are fairly priced considering it is a club. Drinks can run between 7 and 10 euros, depending on what type of mixer you want.
Just a note of caution, poppers are quite popular at clubs, and there are usually several guys sniffing them to enjoy the music and the high. Given this, they usually then bump into you after being too high on the stuff. Other than that, it’s a fun time for all!
