It’s dawned on me that living here, I have forgotten write about a very important thing : hotels ! I didn’t think about it, well, because I don’t need one! However, being a tourist city, Nice has plenty to offer in hotel accommodations.
For those who enjoy the finer things in life, any hotel along Le Promenade des Anglais will be wonderful. The most expensive hotel along this street is Le Negresco. It is apparently quite famous and quite expensive. It is located on the other side of the Prom., away from Le Vieux Nice. Equally, if not more expensive and closer to Vieux Nice and le Cours Salaya (Rerstaurant Row) is L’Hotel Suisse. It is actually located in the mountain of Nice where there is a castle a top. Guests can use the elevator or take tours of the mountain.
For those with tighter budgets, there are still plenty of hotels located throughout Nice. Again, the more expensive hotels will be within Vieux Nice, it is the center of tourism here. Otherwise, Rue de France is a good bet. Like most cities, the further away one is from the center of it all, the cheaper it is. However, a good medium, if you don’t mind a lot of walking or using public transportation, are hotels around the Boulevard Gambetta and Rue de France intersection. These hotels are still close enough to get to you to the interesting places, but far enough away to still be affordable. Oh, and a perk! No matter where you stay, a beach is just about a block or two away!
