Well, the year is almost over, half the lecteurs have returned home, and my time in my apartment has come to an end. I have to be out of my apartment at the end of the month, and it's just starting to dawn on me that I did it. I really did it. I lived away from home for 10 months, (and it will be more, almost a year), made great friends, and still have so many more options in front of me.
Matt and I are still planning a great road trip when he gets out here, which has been postponed due to one of his employees incompetence, but when it happens I think it'll be very memorable.
It's been a sad week, three of the girls have left, and it was emotional for all three. Zach leaves Saturday, Erica leaves Wednesday, leaving me, Katie and Pete. Katie is hoping to find a job here again next year thanks to a wonderful guy she met, and Pete will be here during the fall at least.
It's funny how things work out, we didn't really know how close we all were considering it's only been 10 months. But we've worked together, hung out together and even went on vacations together.
Though i know that friends are meant to come in and out of our lives, I must say that I'm so happy and thankful that I was able to spend the year with them, who were there for me, we were there for each other, and made the year in Nice, not only memorable, but made it feel like I had some semblance of a family, and was never, ever, lonely.
