Ay lassie!!! Am I feeling a little bit rough lol.
Last night me and the gang celebrated "Burns Night." No, we did not burn things down, it was a night paying hommage to Robert Burns, a Scottish poet who apparently had a huge influence on the British Isles.
The night started off with listening to some bagpipe music, which was nice to hear. While this is playing, everyone was preparing the food, which is traditionally supposed to be Haggis. Erica made some 'faux haggis.' IE. It wasn't in real sheep's stomach, it was just more like of a meatloaf thing with the same spices as in regular haggis.
When the haggis was ready, they played a poem to a haggis by Burns which was cool to listen to. The meal was AMAZING! (Go Erica!). After clean up, we all had some whiskey. (And I learned that there is a difference between Whiskey and Whisky. W.o the E is suppsedly a better class of Whisky). While dirnking our whisky, we all read Burns poems, in fake Scottish accents. Most amusing.
Then the night concluded with each one of us reading some of our favorite poems.
It was a really great night. It's cool having international friends!
