Well new news from the Nice front. Jamie's staying another year. I remember telling myself when I first got here that I wouldn't stay for another year because I wanted to "grow up" but then the city grew on me, slowly and quietyly like a unthreatening fungus. Lol. So, about a month and a half ago, I asked my bosses here in Nice whether or not I could stay for another year, and they seemed to welcome the idea.
However, what I wasn't sure about was whether or not their would be a position available with me, I had thought it would depend on what happened at Montclair. I had (secretly) hoped that no one would apply.
So you can imagine my surprise when I received an e-mail from an old classmate from MSU asking about Nice. I gave him all the information I could in a little survival guide.
I then e-mailed my boss to see if there was still a position available for me even though MSU was sending someone. To my pleasent surprise, Genevieve told me that it was 'definite' since I asked that I'd have a position next year, I would just be a 'freelance' lecteur as oppose to one linked with a university.
WOOT. I don't have to grow up totally just yet lol
