So before I go onto my wonderful weekend in Paris this weekend, I wanted to make sure I told you all about Bordeaux.
Bordeaux is a fun city in the far west side of France. From Nice, by train, it is about a nine hour trip. I know, I did it, twice (once going, once back). The train ride was made bareable thanks to my wonderful friends who kept me laughing, smiling and takling the entire way there.
Like I said in my last blog, the reason we went to Bordeaux was to see our friend play in her band Pussydelic at a bar called Le Restaurant.
But more on the city itself. The first thing I said when my friends asked me what i thought about it was that it wasn't Nice. Which is funny, because I guess spending as much time as I have in nice, I've begun to think that hte rest of France looks like it. However, Nice is the oddity, Bordeaux is more the norm.
The city is large, with great historic monuments and churches. I remember we went into Le Cathédrale de St. James which was beautiful. Afterwards we ending up wandering around the center of town and found this GREAT little Christmas market! It was so cute, and really reminded me of home, which was nice.
Overall, a great city, and I hope I get to go back one weekend and explore more of it.
