First day in Berlin, my friends matt and Doug are working on their research. Then i think they are going to show me around. I honestly don't know hwat there is to do in Berlin, I didn't do any prior research, but we'll see. I'm excited, first time ever that I'm in a place where I don't know the language. It was funny, last night they (my friends) wanted to get something to eat. So they take to this place that seems to be open all night, and is a pizza and kebab like place. so after they place their order, the guy behind the counter looks at me and starts talking to me in German.

I assume he said "what do you want?" or "how can I help you?" but I got so freaked out I just started saying "no" in like five different languages. Then my friends spoke up for me. It was quite comical and quite disturbing at the same time. We'll see what the next day has in store.
