I hate being a big boy! All of these grown up decisions to make. I”ve talked to a bunch of different booths and they all seem interesting. Particularly, the political science department. The interpretation school told me that for two languages one must be totally bilingual. Gah! So of course, I’ll try because I’m stubborn, but if not, I may still go to Geneva for political science. $1,000 a year! Fuck yes! So I’m going to sit in a class and see what it is all about.
I made sure to ask very specific questions to the representative at the political science booth, including what types of fields they have masters programs in, as well as the type of structure the classroom is based around: i.e.: French model or Anglo-Saxon model. The difference being, in the French model, the teacher talks, the students listen, that’s it; no classroom discussion, no questioning, no nothing. So I wanted to make sure that if I were going to invest two or three years into a foreign institution, I would enjoy it.
I also looked at the FLE (French as a Foreign Language) department, to see the various programs there, but my loyalties are leaning more towards the poly-sci. I know I’m probably jumping to conclusions, but after hearing about that interpretation program, I know I have a lot of work ahead of me.
