One of my favorite things to do in general, and when funds are available is shopping! Shopping is such a stress reliever. However, since being in France, I’ve generally tried to avoid it, just because I know how expensive France is in general, and with the poor euro-dollar ratio, it just isn’t wise to go on shopping sprees.

However, with winter setting in, and me going to Berlin and Geneva, two relatively cold places in western Europe, I decided I had to bite the bullet and buy a winter coat. So I went to Jean-Medecin, the main street in centre-ville where there are a lot of shops and boutiques. I walked up and down the avenue seeing so many wonderful shops, but they seemed too far out of my price range. So I went into the only mall in Nice, Nice Etoile. I walked around and found a nice store for guys and girls, and found a WONDERFUL jacket. Only proble, it was 180 euros. Which is about 270 dollars! OUCH! So I decided to move on.

My friends had told me there was an H&M here, so I figured I’d give that a shot. I generally had good luck there in the States, so I figured why not give it a shot in France. And lucky me! They had a WONDERFUL winter jacket, gray with six buttons down the front, and I bought a matching scarf and some gloves for a total of, get ready, 85 euros! I was happier than a pig in shit. I’ve already worn the jacket, and have gotten nothing but compliments. Ah, la vie est belle!
