So last night was the English Society’s first pub night. The English Society is the on campus English club, a place where those students studying English can come and practice their skills with native English speakers. We had it at a place called Le Sansas, and it was a booming success.
We tried to come up with a fun theme night, so for last night’s soirée we came up with the idea of 70’s night. Some students dressed up in 70’s garb, bell bottoms and all. We did our best to dress up as people in the 70s, but I’d have to say that my fellow American lecteur Zach definitely had the best costume. He looked like a 70’s porn star, equipped with bald head, handle-bar mustache, and open button-downed shirt. He looked wonderful!
Le Sansas is a fun little bar/restaurant that is apparently family owned. The drinks are relatively cheap, but it’s the atmosphere that really shines in the place. With plenty of seating indoors and out, people can sit around comfortably listening to the music, or live band that’s playing.
Our next pub night is probably going to be a karaoke night. The location hasn’t been decided as of yet, but I know I’m excited for that one! It’ll remind me of being at Switch for karaoke night. Hmm…I wonder if they’ll have any Supremes or old fifties songs….One can hope!
